Your fingers are fast. Your shortcuts should be faster.

Typing test FAQs
How is WPM calculated?
Net WPM counts every correctly typed character, divides by 5 (the standard word length), and normalizes to one minute. Raw WPM counts all keystrokes, right or wrong. Accuracy is correct keystrokes over total keystrokes.
What does the code mode measure?
Code mode makes you type real JavaScript, Python, CSS or SQL, including brackets, operators and indentation. Symbol-heavy typing is a different skill from prose and most people score 20 to 40 percent lower, which is exactly why it is worth training.
What is a good typing speed?
Average is around 40 WPM. 60 to 80 WPM is comfortably fast for professional work, and 100+ WPM puts you in the top few percent. For code mode, anything above 60 WPM is strong.
What does consistency mean?
Consistency measures how steady your speed was second by second during the test. 100 percent would be a perfectly even pace; big bursts and pauses lower it. Steady typists usually have higher real-world throughput than bursty ones at the same peak WPM.
